I like this picture, lol, I look silly as I always do, kind of look like I am scared of the camera here somehow, also look undecided as to if I want to have a Marvel or DC comics day! I wonder which brands socks I had on to break the deadlock! Spider-Man was one of my favourite heroes when I was 1st getting into comics, I collected all his books for a few years too and kind of favoured Marvel in my youth but slowly tired of the characters and stories for some reason or another and became drawn to DC to the point that I'd definitely say I am a DC head but I can still appreciate old Marvel comics, characters and the film universe. As much as I loved the old webslinger I think it's his books I tired of first, he was so angsty all the time and never seemed to resolve any story. Threads and villains seemed to run forever and I tired of it. The same with the X-Men, the Claremont run that many hold up as being among the best really didn't do it for me at all.
This shirt is from the classic cover of The Amazing Spider-man # 97 "In the Grip of the Goblin" from June 1971 with cover art by John Romita and Archie Simek. The story was by Stan Lee with art by Gil Kane, Frank Giacoia & John Romita
When I get around to going through all my old comic longboxes, I will post some more videos and photos up here and probably document exactly how many Spidey books I have but it has to be a few hundred for sure.
I have started blogging my comics, check out my video/blogs of that HERE
